“FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE”:
CULTURALLY SPECIFIC MEANINGS
IN POLITICAL DISCOURSE

Abstract. The article introduces a complex methodology of analysis of culturally specific meanings in political discourse. The algorithm of analysis is demonstrated on the example of the phrase “From Russia with Love” and is based on the following dimensions: 1) the formation of culturally specific “micromeanings”; 2) their combination into complex meanings; 3) logic of meaning formation, which accounts for the “macromeaning” of political communication as a whole.

Key words: culturally specific meanings; communication; social constructionism; interpretation; logic of meaning formation.
