Islamic Sciences Department is one of the two important departments of KTMU Faculty of Theology together with Religious Studies. In our department, which started education in the 2011-2012 academic year, a 4-year education is given after preparation course. The language of instruction is Turkish and Kyrgyz, and these languages ​​are taught in the preparation course. Arabic is mainly taught as a foreign language during the education period.

In the Department of Islamic Sciences, which provides education with its visionary and experienced teaching staff, has proven its competence in the academic field with international publications and quality education activities over the years. The Department of Islamic Sciences provides education in Tafsir, Hadith, Kalam, Islamic Law / Fiqh, History of Islamic Sects, Sufism, Reading the Qur'an. In addition courses of Tajvid, Arabic Language, Russian, English, there are also a wide range of courses such as Education of Values​​, Religion and Ethics Teaching Methods, History of Islam, History of Religions, General Philosophy, Logic, Morality, Philosophy of Religion, Sociology of Religion, Psychology of Religion, Anthropology of Religion, Culture, Civilization etc. In this way, our graduates have the opportunity and advantage of embracing the past and the future together, benefiting from the opportunities of technology, producing solutions to many religious and social problems of the Kyrgyz-Turkish society, valuing critical thinking, and having a broad horizon and vision.

Graduates of the Islamic Sciences Department of our faculty can work as Religious Officers in mosques affiliated to the Kyrgyzstan Muslims Presidency (Muftiyat), Instructor and Manager in madrasas, and can also work as Religious Experts in other institutions or organizations that are needed in the society. In addition, thanks to the Double Major education, those who graduate with a joint diploma from the Department of Islamic Sciences and Religious Sciences can also get the chance to be employed as a Religious Culture and Moral lessons teacher in public schools by obtaining a State diploma.

Students studying at our faculty have the opportunity to gain experience abroad by attending a summer training (internship) in Turkey at least one time during their education. In addition, our graduates have the opportunity to receive master's and doctoral education in many countries, especially in Kyrgyzstan and Turkey, after graduation, with the advantage of Turkish, Arabic, Russian and English language skills.
