In July 2021, archeological excavations were carried out by the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University archeology team in Ton district of Issyk Kul region with the support of Ak-Terek municipality. These researches and excavations were carried out within the scope of the "Kyrgyzstan Issyk Kul Region Ton/Ak-Terek Village Archaeological Research" project. As a result of the field researches, excavations were carried out on three kurgans and three settlements in the archaeological sites of Tuyuk-Car I and Tuyuk-Car II. During the excavation, fragments of ceramic vessels, two archaeological artifacts made of stone, as well as human and horse bones were found. According to the exterior and interior constructions of the archaeological sites and the finds, it is estimated that the artifacts belong to the Early Iron Age, that is, to the VI. BC. - V. AD. The planned Radiocarbon analysis will also assist in determining the exact age of the artifacts. In addition to the fixed excavation works, surface surveys were also carried out in some parts of the town of Ton, and as a result of these researches, new information was obtained on the archeology of the Göktürk and Saka Periods. In addition, within the scope of the aforementioned research project, KTMU History Department, Archeology and Social Anthropology Master's Program students completed their internship.
