Three students representing our University have been supported to participate in the 14th International Conquest Cup (Fetih Cup), organized by the Turkish Archers Foundation and the World Traditional Archery Union (WTAU) in Istanbul, Türkiye, from 3 to 7 June 2026, under the supervision of Lecturer Samat SÜYORKULOV.
The University covered the students’ travel, accommodation, meal and daily expenses. Held on the occasion of the 573rd anniversary of the Conquest of Istanbul, the tournament is taking place at the Archers Foundation Facilities in Okmeydanı, Istanbul.
The event brings together traditional archers from around the world to commemorate the conquest of Istanbul and preserve the historical heritage of the Archers Foundation. Competitions are organized in recurve, compound and traditional bow categories.
Founded in 1480 by Sultan Mehmed II (Mehmed the Conqueror), the historic Archers Foundation is regarded as one of the world’s earliest registered sports clubs and continues to play an important role in preserving and promoting traditional archery.
