On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Industrial Engineering faculty member Dr. Selçuk Gören gave a seminar titled "Digital Transformation and Sustainability in the Era of Industry 4.0". In the seminar, the effects of Industry 4.0 and digital transformation on different sectors were discussed. The key components of Industry 4.0 such as the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), artificial intelligence (AI), big data, digital twins and autonomous robots were discussed. How these technologies can be used, what benefits they can provide to businesses and the relationship of digital transformation with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 9 and 12 were discussed.
