SEMINAR "FONTS: FONTS AND MODERN TYPOGRAPHY"


On March 23, 2026, the Faculty of Arts held a seminar on "Fonts: Fonts and Modern Typography."

The seminar was led by Aitbubu Badakhshanova, a lecturer in the Faculty of Arts's Graphics Department. The event covered the historical development of typography, its applications, and its place in visual communication. Participants were introduced to the development of typography, from Johannes Gutenberg's invention of the printing press to the modern understanding of typography. The seminar also presented information on fonts and their use in graphic design, advertising, branding, and digital media. It was emphasized that typography is not only a tool for organizing text but also an essential tool for effectively conveying a message. The event also highlighted the importance of choosing the right font for legibility, aesthetics, and communication. Examples were used to explain the function of different fonts in creating a variety of emotions and meanings. It was noted that the seminar expanded students' knowledge of typography and increased their awareness of design processes, and that such events are important for promoting students' professional development.
