Seminar on “Typeface — Types of Fonts and Contemporary Typography” Held


 

On March 23, 2026, a seminar titled “Typeface — Types of Fonts and Contemporary Typography” was held at the Faculty of Fine Arts.

The seminar was delivered by Aytubu Badakhshanova, a lecturer from the Department of Graphic Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts. During the event, the historical development of typography, its areas of application, and its role in visual communication were discussed. Participants were introduced to the evolution of typography, from Johannes Gutenberg’s invention of the printing press to contemporary typographic practices.

As part of the seminar, information was provided on different types of typefaces and their use in graphic design, advertising, branding, and digital media. It was emphasized that typography is not only a tool for arranging text but also plays a crucial role in effectively conveying messages.

The event also highlighted the importance of choosing the right typeface in terms of readability, aesthetics, and communication. Examples demonstrated how different fonts can convey various emotions and meanings.
