“Heritage Beyond Time: Silk Road” Exhibition Opened


 

The international exhibition “Heritage Beyond Time: Silk Road” opened on April 20, 2026, at the Kurmancan Datka Art Gallery, welcoming art enthusiasts. The exhibition stood out as an important event bringing the cultural heritage of the Silk Road— which connected different civilizations throughout history— into the present day.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Dr. Mustafa Kemal Ökem, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Bishkek Latif Seyfeddin Oğlu Gandilov, the Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Bishkek Tahir Osman Tahir, TIKA Bishkek Program Coordinator Mehmet Bodur, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş, Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih İstanbullugil, academics, and students.

Open to visitors between April 20–24, the exhibition presents works reflecting the historical, cultural, and artistic heritage of the Silk Road. Panel sessions and workshops were also held as part of the event program.

Addressing the multilayered structure of the Silk Road stretching from the past to the present, the exhibition aims to highlight the importance of cultural interaction and shared heritage. The works, carrying traces from different geographies, offer visitors a historical journey while emphasizing cultural continuity.

The event seeks to strengthen international cooperation through art and culture and to make shared values more visible.
