At this stage of social development, human resources have come to the fore as the main capital. The quality of human resources directly depends on the quality of educational services offered. As educators, it is very important not only what is taught in these services, but also how it is taught. In other words, quality education consists of quality information and effective learning-teaching methods. For this reason, with the development of science, education will continue to be one of the most important fields and teachers will continue to be the most needed experts. Accordingly, as a department, we constantly follow the innovations and experiences in the field of education in the world and at the same time, we attach great importance to our national achievements.

To train contemporary, qualified, research-skilled, self-renewing and empathetic counselors in the field of psychological counseling and guidance in line with ethical principles, to help these psychological counselors provide a qualified service in the institutions they work in and to transform the knowledge they have acquired for the benefit of society.

PURPOSE OF THE DEPARTMENT

The purpose of the Guidance and Psychological Counseling program; Have knowledge and skills regarding guidance and consultancy services applied in educational institutions; sensitive to social problems; responsible; respectful of human rights; Able to use the knowledge gained during the education process in all guidance services related to the student's individual, academic and professional development; Able to produce individual-centered solutions by evaluating social and individual problems scientifically; identifies individuals with special needs and supports them and their families; Developing oneself personally, professionally and scientifically by embracing lifelong learning; Complying with ethical principles in all these processes; To train counselors and psychological counselors who are open to communication under all circumstances.
