Second- and third-year undergraduate students of the Psychological Counseling And Guidance Program in the Department of Educational Sciences visited the Special Children Education and Rehabilitation Center located at Jal 29, Bishkek, on December 3, 2025. As previously arranged, the visit was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Kadiyan Boobekova, a lecturer in the Department of Educational Sciences. Prof. Dr. Süleyman Barbaros Yalçın, a faculty member of the department, and graduate student Suna Kılıç also participated in the visit.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Director of the Special Children Education and Rehabilitation Center, Ms. Gülnura Asılbek kızı, and the center’s staff. The students received comprehensive information about the institution’s structure, characteristics, and services, as well as about the education, care, and health of the children attending the center.
Detailed information was also provided on working with children with hearing impairments, speech and language disorders, autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental delays, and spastic conditions.
Students actively asked questions to the director and staff, gaining additional insights. The visit enabled students to observe institutional practices, become familiar with children with special educational needs, and acquire practical knowledge related to guidance and counseling services in special education settings.
