DESCENDANTS OF MANAS INBAKU
June 5-11, 2023, the II Festival of Literature and Turkic World Books was held in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku. Famous poets, writers, philologists from Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Hungary were invited to this festival.
Kyrgyzstan was represented by Prof., Dr. Burul Sagynbayeva the head of Philology Department of the Faculty of Humanities of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and the Instructor of the Higher School of Foreign Languages Altynbek Ismailov. They provided extensive information about the history, literature, culture, ethnography, historical figures of Kyrgyzstan and showed a documentary film dedicated to national equestrian games, talked about the epic "Manas" and the works of Chingiz Aitmatov, read poems dedicated to the homeland and the Turkic world.
At the end of the festival Prof. Dr. Burul Sagynbayeva was awarded the Nizami Genjevi medal of the international organization TURKSOY and the certificate of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation "Beynelhalk", the poet Altynbek Ismailov was awarded the certificate of the Turkish Culture and Heritage Foundation "Beynelhalk".
