The objectives of the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University are to provide an investigation of agriculturally important genes (transferring from close relatives of cultivars, local cultivars, improved cultivars, and breeding lines with marker-assisted selection technique), identification and characterization of plant species or varieties, bacteria, fungi, etc., and determination of the relative degree of genetic relationship between them, evaluation of the resistance mechanisms against pests and disease factors by researching biotic and abiotic stress factors. In this context, the laboratory has the necessary technical and hardware infrastructure to carry out above-mentioned studies.
