Manas Forum 2022 was held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU).
The theme of the Manas Forum, which was held for the second time this year and lasted for two days, was determined as "Security and Power Transition in Asia".
The opening program, held on October 12, 2022, in the Conference Hall named after Kasım Tınıstanov, started with the national anthems of Turkey and Kyrgyzstan and the screening of the University's promotional film was followed by the keynote speeches.
The tradition that started with the participation of Foreign Ministers
KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, in his opening speech, said, “We held the first of this forum on March 10, 2021, within the framework of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, with the honor of our Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and our Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. Thus, we started a new tradition in the Manas Family on March 10, 2021. In the years to come, it will be our most important job to contribute scientifically to our region, our countries and the world with the Manas Forum.”
Contribution to science and humanity
Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said, “We care that the information produced during the consultations here contributes to science and our countries. Our slogan 'Beyond a university...' also states that as a University, we do not only provide education, but also focus on producing science advances and thus providing benefits to our Turkic World and humanity. In this context, we wrote the Technocity Law, perhaps breaking new ground in the world. This is the first university to have done this. We prepared it and presented it to our Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Akilbek. We will keep doing this kind of work.”
Turkic World youth equipped to succeed
Rector Alpaslan Ceylan said, “We will do our best to support the idea expressed by Gaspirali İsmail Bey about unity in language, thought and work. We will continue to work day and night to produce information to raise our young people who are important members of the Turkic World in the best possible way. We believe that the best diplomats of the future will emerge from our University, who make use of scientific knowledge and the opportunities given by Manas University. Our basic philosophy, as stated by His Holiness Haci Bektas Veli, is the motto "Let's be together, prominent and enthusiastic."
Being 'together' in a changing world
Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Asilbek Kulmırzayev also emphasized that with the end of the cold war, the international balances began to change, and that the Turkic World had to be more united than ever in order to have a strong place in this changing environment.
