Scientific Meeting Among Students: “Science Road”
On April 25, 2024, the inter-student scientific event titled “Science Road” organized by the Department of Philology of the Faculty of Humanities was held at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University`s Kasym Tynystanov Conference Hall.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Aşık; Head of the Department of Philology, Prof. Dr. Burul Sagynbaeva; Head of the Department of Turkology, Prof. Dr. Ozan Yılmaz, as well as many faculty members and students showed great interest in the event.
In the opening speech of the event, a faculty member of the Chinese Language and Literature Program of the Department of Philology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yu Chen, said: “I`m very happy to take part in such an event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Department of Philology for the opportunity to share the valuable knowledge gained from the graduation theses.”
The event aimed to increase students interest in writing scientific studies, develop their critical thinking skills, and introduce them to current scientific trends. During the event, which took place in two sessions, the presentations made by 4th-grade students in Kyrgyz, Turkish, Russian, English, and Chinese were highly appreciated by the participants.
The event continued in an interactive format with an exchange of information among the participants. In his closing speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Aşık stated that the event was productive and emphasized that such events should continue. He also expressed pride in the students ability to express their thoughts in many languages, saying, “The fact that the students can convey their thoughts, ideas, and research to us here in five different languages without any difficulty is really something to be proud of. In this sense, I thank you all very much.”
At the end of the event, the jury awarded the students who presented the best papers. Students gained experience by contributing to the richness of the academic world through knowledge sharing.
