2024 THEQC – International Conference on Quality Assurance and Accreditation
The “2024 THEQC International Quality Assurance and Accreditation” conference organized by the Turkish Higher Education Quality Council (THEQC) and hosted by Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University was held on April 25-26, 2024.
Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek, Member of the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council, attended the conference titled “International Quality Assurance and Accreditation” on behalf of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
The conference was attended by European Higher Education Quality Assurance authorities as well as Directors of national quality assurance agencies, University Rectors and Experts from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Germany, Kosovo, Bosnia, Slovenia, Northern Cyprus, Türkiye and Mauritania.
During the conference, the latest trends and European perspectives in the field of higher education were discussed, along with best practices and challenges in quality assurance and accreditation. The impact of digitalization on the sector and future prospects were also shared with the participants.
In particular, in the panel session moderated by Prof. Dr. Olgun Çiçek, the success stories and quality assurance practices of Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Mauritania were discussed. In this session, participants shared their experiences on best practices as well as opportunities and challenges in the sector.
In their opening speeches, the President of the Higher Education Quality Council of Türkiye and the Presidents of the Councils of Higher Education thanked the participants and expressed their appreciation for the important networking and exchange of information.
