Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan Participates in the “Images of the Year” Voting
Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan participated in the “Images of the Year” voting event organized by Manas TV. The event showcased Anadolu Agency's standout photographs capturing significant events and moments of 2024.
Prof. Dr. Ceylan reviewed images taken by Anadolu Agency’s reporters and photojournalists from Türkiye and abroad, categorized into “News,” “Natural Life and Environment,” “Sports,” “Daily Life,” and “Free Syria.” The event was supported by Roketsan, Turkcell Lifebox, and Sony.
In the “Free Syria” category, Rector Ceylan voted for Hesham Elsherif’s “Freedom Tower.” In the “Natural Life and Environment” category, he chose Şebnem Coşkun’s “Above the Ice, Under the Water.” For the “News” category, he selected Ali Atmaca’s “Everywhere Palestine,” and in the “Daily Life” category, he picked Ahmet Okatalı’s “Glorious Night.” Finally, in the “Sports” category, Prof. Dr. Ceylan voted for Adem Kutucu’s “Ancestral Sport.”
Expressing his admiration for the photographs, Prof. Dr. Ceylan described them as “wonderful” and extended his gratitude to Anadolu Agency’s team. He stated, “Anadolu Agency is the key platform through which Manas University connects with the world.”
Highlighting the university's unique place, Prof. Dr. Ceylan remarked, “No other university in the world is as closely followed by the Presidents of two nations as Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. We are striving to become the most successful university globally, guided by the vision set forth by our Presidents. Our achievements grow day by day. While the good aim for better, our primary focus remains on becoming the best.”
Prof. Dr. Ceylan also acknowledged the inclusion of the “Free Syria” category as a meaningful addition to this year’s voting. He noted, “The inclusion of the Free Syria category will contribute to shaping a new global perception. This initiative has deeply moved me. The liberation of Syria is a crucial milestone for the free world. We hope the days of a free Gaza are near.”
