The Blessing of Ramadan at Manas University: Traditional Street Iftar
Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University once again experienced the peace and blessings of Ramadan with its Traditional Street Iftar on March 18, 2025, welcoming over six thousand attendees.
Held on Cumhuriyet Street at the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus, the event was graced by numerous distinguished guests, including Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan Latif Seyfaddin oglu Gandilov; Second Secretary of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Bishkek Bahar Berdieva; Ambassador of Korea to Bishkek Kim Kwang-jae; First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Bishkek Fedorov Robert Gennadyevich; Member of the Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States Prof. Dr. Medetkan Sherimkulov; embassy counselors and staff; former Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic Prof. Dr. Talantbek Batyraliev; Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Prof. Dr. İbrahim Çapak; Education Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Bishkek Kürşat Dulkadir; Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in Bishkek Tahir Osman Tahir; members of parliament; representatives of “Atalar İzi”; officials from the State Commission for Religious Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic; Eldar Aitmatov, son of Chyngyz Aitmatov; as well as business leaders, journalists, institutional representatives, academicians, students, and citizens.
Since 2022, Manas University has brought together students, faculty, and the wider community each Ramadan, fostering a growing tradition of unity and shared joy. This annual gathering strengthens bonds and reinforces the spirit of brotherhood. The iftar tables set on Cumhuriyet Street at Manas University brought together thousands of students, academicians, and guests from diverse cultures across the Turkic World. As prayers and the call to prayer echoed through the Chyngyz Aitmatov Campus, the atmosphere was filled with spiritual serenity. Guests once again experienced the profound value of sharing and unity as they broke their fast together.
