The opening ceremony of the “YANKI (TabiArt Art Group) Painting Exhibition,” organized by the Faculty of Fine Arts of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU), was held at the Kurmanjan Datka Art Gallery on the university campus.

Bringing together the works of painters from Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan who embrace the Impressionist approach to art, the exhibition serves as a significant example of cultural and artistic interaction between the two countries. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, the Representative of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) in Bishkek Tahir Osman Tahir, KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Deputy Rector Prof. Dr. Almaz Ibraev, Vice-Rectors Prof. Dr. İsmet Altıntaş and Prof. Dr. Kamalbek Karymshakov, as well as academics, students, artists, and numerous art enthusiasts.

The exhibition features works by members of the TabiArt Art Group, including artists Sabri Öztürk, Teymur Abalioğlu, and Orhan Zafer from Türkiye, and Taalai Musurmankulov, Talgat Bokoev, and Arstan Dukuev from Kyrgyzstan.

Ambassador Ökem: “Kyrgyzstan is a Land That Embodies the Spirit of Impressionist Art”

Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem expressed his appreciation for the artworks displayed in the exhibition and congratulated the artists working in the Impressionist style. He noted that Kyrgyzstan, with its unique nature, rich colors, and breathtaking landscapes, is one of the rare places that inspire the spirit of Impressionist art. “In my opinion, Kyrgyzstan is one of the countries that most powerfully reflects the spirit of Impressionism through its nature, light, and unique atmosphere. Our artists have brought the innate beauty and natural richness of Kyrgyzstan to life on canvas and shared it with viewers through their works,” he said.

Rector Ceylan: “Manas University is an Institution That Values Art and Artists”

KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized that Manas University is an educational institution that highly values art and artists. Highlighting the decisive role of art in the development of civilizations, Prof. Dr. Ceylan recalled the famous words of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk: “You can become anything, but you cannot become an artist.” He stated that being an artist requires a special talent, aesthetic sensitivity, and a refined spirit.

Commenting on the artworks exhibited, Rector Ceylan noted that the painters successfully transferred the unique natural beauty, historical landmarks, and rich cultural heritage of Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan onto canvas through the effective use of color and light. “Our artists have successfully reflected the spirit, nature, and diverse moments of life in these two brotherly countries through their own aesthetic perspectives and original interpretations,” he said.

Art: A Universal Bridge Connecting Cultures

Speaking about the exhibition, the artists explained that the essence of Impressionism lies in capturing the ever-changing light, colors, and atmosphere of nature and everyday life. They emphasized that their goal is not to reproduce objects exactly as they are, but rather to convey the spirit of a particular moment and the impression it leaves behind. For this reason, harmony among light, color, and emotion occupies a central place in their works.

Members of the TabiArt Art Group underlined that art is a universal language that brings together different cultures and people. They emphasized that the bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan are further strengthened through artistic collaboration. The artists stated that they interpreted the unique natural beauty, historical heritage, and cultural richness of both countries through an Impressionist perspective and expressed their gratitude to the administration of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University for providing the opportunity to present their works to art lovers.

The exhibition, which brings the universal language of art to canvas, continues to welcome visitors at the KTMU Kurmanjan Datka Art Gallery. It will remain open to the public for five days.
