Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, appeared as the live guest on TRT Avaz’s “Turkistan Agenda” program.
Manas Continues to Pioneer Innovation
The program, which was also broadcast simultaneously on Manas Television, featured Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan answering questions from Dr. Bülent Namal, Director of Manas TV. During the interview, Rector Ceylan emphasized that Manas University continues to lead the way in innovation across every field of higher education.
A Strategic Initiative: Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Program
Speaking on the program aired on 17 July 2026, Prof. Dr. Ceylan underlined that Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University—ranked among the world’s top 1,000 universities and recognized as the most advanced higher education institution in Central Asia—closely follows global developments in science and technology.
In line with this vision, he announced the launch of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Program within the Department of Computer Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. He noted that the new program will provide students with a world-class education in artificial intelligence, one of the defining technologies of the modern era, and described it as a strategic initiative for the countries of the Turkic World.
“Artificial intelligence has become an integral part of every aspect of modern life. From scientific research to social life, AI is transforming every field, and countries are in growing need of experts in this area. By closely following global developments, we are launching the Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering Program in Central Asia and creating new opportunities for our young people,” said Prof. Dr. Ceylan.
Bringing the Programs of the Future to Turkistan
Rector Ceylan also highlighted the growing importance of cybersecurity.
“One of today’s most critical issues is cybersecurity. Data security and cybersecurity have become top priorities. Individuals as well as nations are increasingly exposed to cyberattacks. With this awareness, we have also established a Cybersecurity Program. We aim to educate dynamic young professionals with a global perspective who will be capable of addressing the cybersecurity challenges of the future.”
He stated that, as a pioneering institution, Manas University continues to introduce forward-looking academic programs approved by the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK), bringing the educational needs of the new era to Turkistan.
“Manas University, nestled in the Tian Shan Mountains, will continue to lead the way in every new development,” he emphasized.
Strong Interest in the Faculty of Medicine
Recalling that the Faculty of Medicine was established during the University’s 30th anniversary celebrations, fulfilling a dream that had existed for three decades, Prof. Dr. Ceylan said that all 25 places allocated for students from Türkiyewere filled last year and that interest in the Faculty remains exceptionally high this year.
He explained that after completing the preparatory year, medical students will study their first three academic years at Manas University before continuing their education at the University of Health Sciences in Türkiye, one of the country’s leading medical institutions with approximately 4,000 distinguished faculty members.
“Following the pandemic, healthcare has become one of the world’s greatest priorities. Manas University will continue to lead Central Asia in medical education and healthcare sciences,” he said.
Prof. Dr. Ceylan also noted that students admitted to the Faculty of Medicine receive both their initial travel ticket to the University and their return ticket upon graduation.
Rector Ceylan Invites Students to Become Part of the Manas Family
Addressing prospective students, Prof. Dr. Ceylan encouraged them to choose Manas University.
“Being a graduate of Manas means holding a diploma that is recognized worldwide. In fact, studying in one of Türkiye’s major cities often costs more than studying at Manas. Students who choose Manas will be taught by internationally renowned scholars and experts, enabling them to develop to their fullest potential. They will study at a highly advanced campus university equipped with outstanding physical facilities and state-of-the-art technological infrastructure.”
He concluded by inviting prospective students to become members of the Manas family.
A University with Outstanding Career Prospects
Prof. Dr. Ceylan stated that the University maintains close contact with its graduates and noted that alumni are employed in 45 countries around the world, earning competitive salaries, while many have successfully established their own businesses through their entrepreneurial spirit.
He added that, in this respect, Manas is virtually a university with guaranteed career opportunities.
Easy Access from Türkiye to Kyrgyzstan
Rector Ceylan also pointed out that approximately five daily flights operate between Türkiye and Bishkek, making travel convenient for both students and their families.
Concluding the program, he extended an invitation to prospective students:
“I invite all candidates to join Manas University—a university that is far more than just an institution of higher education. Become a member of the Manas family, receive an education of the highest international standard, and go on to serve first your own country, then the Turkic World, and ultimately all of humanity.”
If you’d like, I can also adapt this into a native-style international university press release (similar to those published by Times Higher Education or leading English-language university news offices), making it even more natural for an international audience.
