The article deals with the subject of patience, which is one of the concepts in the Qur'an. In the introduction part of the study, the meaning of patience in dictionaries is examined and some preliminary information about its definition is given.
Concepts such as "hilm" and "ignorance", which are related to patience, were examined.
Comparisons have been made between the meaning of patience in the pre-Islamic period and the meaning of patience in the period when the Qur'an was revealed, in order to reveal how patience changed over time.
