Concepts of God in Islamic Thought (Assoc. Prof. PhD Nail Karagöz)
On 22.02.2023, Assoc. Prof. PhD Nail Karagöz gave a conference called "Concepts of God in Islamic Thought." Karagöz talked about the development process and factors which effected the conceptions of God within the different sects in the history of Islamic Thought and how they have survived until today. He emphasized the importance of Hanafi-Maturidism, which was accepted in these geographies by the society. He mentioned that there is a belief system of Maturidi, which is consistent with different beliefs and produces solutions to today's problems. He also explained the concept of God in Maturidi Thought and its importance to the modern society.
The conference continued in the form of questions and answers. At the end of the conference the dean of the Faculty of Theology Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayık presented of a certificate of appreciation to the speaker.
