Seminars for theology graduates and religious officials at KTMU Faculty of Theology began. In this context, on March 6, 2025, at 16:00, Dr. Khaiitmirza SOTVOLDIEV, a faculty member of the KTMU Faculty of Theology, gave a seminar on the topic “Classical and Modern Tafsir Schools.” The speaker emphasized that classical and modern tafsir schools, which developed throughout history, have attempted to explain the messages of the Qur'an through different approaches. He stated that classical tafsir schools interpreted the Qur'an using various methods such as narration, reasoning, Sufi, and jurisprudential tafsir, and were nourished by traditional sources. Modern tafsir schools, on the other hand, approach the Qur'an through scientific, sociological, and modernist perspectives, examining it within the framework of contemporary science and societal worldviews.
The seminar organized for reinforcing religious knowledge and supporting the professional development of religious workers concluded with this session. At the end of the program, certificates of participation were presented to the seminar attendees by the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayık, and the Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bakıt Murzuraimov.
