A New Doctoral Success from KTMU Faculty of Theology
On June 24, 2025, the Faculty of Theology of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University continued its mission of training qualified academics by adding a new one to its academic achievements. Faculty lecturer and chief imam of Satuk Buğra Han Mosque Sabır Murataliev successfully completed his doctoral defense and earned the title of “doctor” in the field of theology.
Murataliev conducted an in-depth analysis of Maturidi’s institution of prophethood and the place of the sunnah in Islamic thought within the framework of classical theology and tafsir literature in his doctoral thesis titled “The Understanding of the Prophet and the Sunnah in Abu Mansur Maturidi’s Tawātul-Qur’ān”.
Prof. Dr. Bekir Tatlı was the advisor of the thesis, and the defense jury consisted of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mayrambek Jusupov, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Buyar, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nail Karagöz and Assoc. Aiitmamat Kariev took part. His thesis defense received positive evaluations from academic circles with its content and original contributions.
