On Thursday, October 31, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., a seminar was held at the Faculty of Theology focusing on the repressive policies implemented in Kyrgyzstan during the Soviet era and the atrocities committed under Stalin’s regime. Following the country’s independence, these issues have continued to be the subject of academic research. In this context, KTMU doctoral student Camila Coraeva presented a study on the life and struggle of the Kyrgyz intellectual Dali Mirza Zülfibaev, who was executed in 1938.
Research on the repressive Soviet policies, particularly the systematic persecutions carried out under Joseph Stalin (1878–1953), gained momentum after Kyrgyzstan’s independence in 1991. The seminar aimed to shed light on this dark period by exploring the life, ideas, and honorable struggle of Dali Mirza Zülfibaev, one of the prominent Kyrgyz intellectuals executed in 1938.
The presentation highlighted Zülfibaev’s professional career, his social and cultural activities, and his contributions to his people. At the end of the seminar, it was emphasized that Zülfibaev was not only an intellectual but also a symbol of the Kyrgyz people's pursuit of freedom and justice.
