A seminar titled "Religious Situation in Kyrgyzstan" was held


A seminar titled "The Religious Situation in Kyrgyzstan" was held at the Faculty of Theology of Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University (KTMU) on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 3:30 PM. Arzybek Baltabaev, a member of the Kyrgyz Commission on Religious Affairs, participated as a speaker.

In his presentation, Baltabaev shared comprehensive information about the current religious structure in Kyrgyzstan, state-religious relations, and the role of religious institutions in social life. He also presented data on the distribution of public beliefs, the number of religious institutions, and religious practices, including religious demographic statistics nationwide.

Following this, Baltabaev addressed the key points of his speech regarding structures and groups prone to radicalism and terrorism. He detailed the impact of such formations on society, the state's preventative policies, and religious institutions' awareness-raising efforts on this issue. He emphasized the importance of strengthening religious education against radicalism and promoting a healthy understanding of religion.

The program attracted considerable interest from academic and administrative staff and university students. Following the presentation, students asked Baltabaev various questions and obtained more detailed information about the current religious situation and security policies in Kyrgyzstan.

At the end of the seminar, Associate Professor Dr. Bakıt Murzaraimov, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Theology, presented Arzıbek Baltabaev with a certificate of appreciation.
