The meeting served as both an information platform and a dialogue space between the university and the media, reinforcing institutional communication while highlighting the university’s strategic role in regional higher education.

A shared academic vision for the Turkic world

Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan emphasized that Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University is not only a higher education institution but also a scientific and cultural bridge connecting Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan. He noted that the university has become one of the key contributors to the shared intellectual development of the Turkic world, with its growing academic visibility reflecting this long-term vision. Highlighting the university’s admissions approach, Rector Ceylan explained that the selection system prioritizes merit and academic competence. Students who achieve the required level in the ORT examination are eligible to take the university entrance exam, ensuring that highly motivated and academically prepared students are admitted. He added that this system strengthens the university’s academic profile and helps it maintain a competitive position among leading institutions.

Digital transformation and academic expansion

Prof. Dr. Ceylan noted that the university currently operates 12 faculties and 98 programs, with recent expansions including the Faculties of Tourism, Sports Sciences, and Medicine. He also pointed to new programs in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity as key elements of the university’s digital transformation strategy. He further highlighted the launch of the Kyrgyz Language and Literature program as a strategic step in preserving national cultural heritage and strengthening linguistic development.

Growing scientific output and international cooperation

Rector Ceylan emphasized the university’s increasing academic performance, particularly in Web of Science and Scopus-indexed publications, which has significantly enhanced its international visibility. He also noted that the university actively cooperates with 226 universities worldwide and continues to expand mobility programs under Erasmus partnerships.

Digitalization and infrastructure investments

Prof. Dr. Ceylan also shared updates on digital transformation initiatives, stating that the in-house developed eMANAS system has generated approximately 150,000 USD in savings. Over the past five years, 23 new laboratories and workshops have been established, bringing the total to 110 research and practice facilities. He added that major ongoing projects include a 1,000-capacity female student dormitory, a Sports Sciences faculty building, the Turkic World Botanical Garden-2, and a Technopark, all aligned with the university’s “Green Campus” vision.

Cultural heritage, language, and social initiatives

The Rector also stressed the university’s commitment to the development of the Kyrgyz language, noting the production of academic textbooks and online language courses for Kyrgyz communities abroad, including Ulupamir Kyrgyz in Van, Türkiye. He highlighted pandemic-era measures such as 1,000 hours of recorded lectures and free internet support for students, as well as the university’s unique sports infrastructure, including the only Kokboru field in Bishkek. During the question-answer session, the campus model was described as a “living university,” integrating academic, cultural, artistic, and social life into a single dynamic ecosystem. The university was presented as a growing international academic brand supported by strong cooperation between Türkiye and Kyrgyzstan.
