Sociology

Aim 

Train science experts at the graduate level who has knowledge and skills in the field of sociology, able to carry out successful studies in the field of managerial and scientific research, having a good command of the research methods of social sciences; able to work in the socio-economic, political, cultural and other areas of society; able to contribute to the labor market and social mobility; respectful of ethical values; have a sense of social responsibility and the ability to develop solutions to problems; able to use information technologies as welll as think critically, analytically, creatively and innovatively.

 

Program Information 

1. It gives students the opportunity to become experts in one of the different topics in the field which accepted in the context of predetermined and announced processes. The projects that carried out at the institutional and individual level in the fields of academic specialization, as well as researches and studies provide the basis for the training of experts and researchers in social science as well as in sociology in particular, who has the theoretical and methodological knowledge of the discipline of sociology, the skills to apply the knowledge, the ability to think critically and analytically, assimilate the scientific ethical principles, act with a sense of social responsibility, are equipped with international knowledge and respond to the needs of the global and local business world.

 

1. Within the Master's Program, there are two (2) classrooms, one (4) seminar hall and a computer laboratory. In order to be provided access to national and international scientific resources for the Master students of Sociology Department, The database of the Library and Documentation Department of Kyrgyzstan - Turkey Manas University is provided free of charge services. Access to thousands of printed publications in eight different libraries within the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University are provided.

 

1. The education of Master's program is currently  run by 8 academic staff, specifically 3 full-time professors, 1 assistant professor, 1 associate professor, 3 part-time and hour-based PhD level academicians. All lecturers constantly conduct joint scientific studies with researchers abroad and participate in international scientific activities. In our department, there are 3 faculty members working at prestigious universities in Turkey and specialized in their fields who are experts in certain subjects. When necessary, well-known faculty members working in different universities  in Kyrgyz Republic are also assigned to our department on a part-time basis and with tuition fees.

 

1. The successful students can benefit from our University student exchange programs such as Erasmus, Mevlana and Orhun, etc. and has the opportunity to do free of charge internship in universities of many countries, in Turkey in particular. 

 

1. The Sociology Master's Degree Program is constantly updated by taking into account scientific developments, innovations and opinions of stakeholders.
