On May 14–15, a two-day training course was held at the Department of Plant Protection of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University for forest protection engineers of the Forest Service under the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The training was organized within the framework of the cooperation agreement between Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and the Forest Service. The course program, entitled “Identification of Forest Pests and Diseases with Elements of Laboratory Diagnostics,” included both theoretical and practical sessions. During the training, participants learned about methods for diagnosing forest pests and diseases, the fundamentals of forest entomology, monitoring techniques, and quarantine pests and diseases. Particular attention was given to laboratory practice, including sample collection, surface sterilization, inoculation on culture media, and observation of fungal growth.
The training sessions were conducted by faculty members of the Department of Plant Protection: Associate Professor Mahabat Konurbayeva, Acting Associate Professor Saykal Bobushova, and Acting Associate Professor Esenali uulu Tair. The course included laboratory demonstrations, practical diagnostics, and group case studies, contributing to the professional development of the participants.
