On February 19, the National Red Crescent Society of Kyrgyzstan organized an informational session for students of the Faculty of Communication about the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
During the event, students received detailed information about the structure of the Movement, its fundamental principles, humanitarian mandate, and its role in assisting people affected by armed conflicts, emergencies, and natural disasters. Special attention was given to the importance of the principles of humanity, neutrality, and impartiality in strengthening public trust in the organization.
In addition, participants were introduced to the foundations and key documents of international humanitarian law aimed at protecting people in situations of armed conflict. The role of the Red Crescent Society in promoting compliance with international humanitarian law was also thoroughly explained.
At the end of the session, students were provided with detailed information about volunteering opportunities and requirements within the organization and expressed interest in engaging in humanitarian activities.
