On February 20, 2026, an introductory visit to the Central Asian Ecological Research Institute (CAIER) was organized in Almaty, Kazakhstan, upon the initiative of the Chamber of Independent Directors of the Kyrgyz Republic. The program also welcomed Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanyshay Muktarova, a faculty member of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at the Faculty of Communication of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
The meeting was held as a platform integrating Sustainable Development Goals with ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into scientific research and educational activities. During the program, institute representatives provided information on energy efficiency solutions implemented in the building and technical approaches to the effective use of infrastructure.
As part of the technical tour, the laboratories’ areas of work were introduced, and innovative construction materials developed through the recycling of industrial waste were examined on-site. It was noted that these materials support sustainability in the construction sector, reduce environmental impact, and contribute to the development of a zero-waste (circular) economy.
The meeting also emphasized that in contemporary corporate governance practices, processes such as strategy development, risk management, transparency, accountability, and effective stakeholder engagement are structured based on ESG principles. The visit was considered an important step toward enhancing regional cooperation and strengthening sustainability-oriented academic and institutional initiatives.
