lLEF Awards at the XIII International Umut Young Filmmakers Forum
From March 4 to 7, 2026, the 13th International Film Forum of Young CIS Filmmakers "Umut" was held in Bishkek. 38 films were screened at the forum, and graduates of the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University received prizes in the National competition, whose jury consisted of cinematographers from France, Azerbaijan, and Kazakhstan.
The film "Balyk" by Tolomush Janybekov, a graduate of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema of the Faculty of Communications, won the "Best Film" award and Aiperi Ryspekova, a 2025 graduate of the same department, received the "Special Jury Prize" for her documentary "Gulbara".
