Great Success of KTMU Faculty of Communication Students at the “Joogazın” Festival


Students of the Faculty of Communication at Kyrgyz-Turkish University “Manas” (KTMU) achieved significant success by winning multiple awards at the National Advertising and PR Festival “Joogazın,” which included students and jury members from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The festival, organized in collaboration between the KTMU Faculty of Communication and  the Journalism and Communication Institute of the Jusup Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University  on March 26–27, drew attention with the performances of KTMU students across various categories, including scientific presentations, case analysis, and PR discussions. Through the awards they received in different categories at this festival, which saw extensive international participation, KTMU students once again demonstrated the academic and practical strength of their faculty.

Multiple awards at the scientific conference
On March 26, at the Faculty of Communication of Manas University, an international student scientific and practical conference titled “Sustainable Development Communication: Green Economy and Social Responsibility” was held, where KTMU Faculty of Communication students also received awards in multiple categories.

In the category “Strategic PR of Sustainable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility,” Tologon Sabyrbekov, a fourth-year student of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, won first place, while Toroeva Asylai and Malika Melis kyzy, third-year students of the Department of Journalism, took third place.

In the category “Sustainable Development Media and Journalism: Ecology, Society, and Responsibility,” first-year students of the Department of Journalism, Elmar Usenbekov and Adelina Konokbaeva, took first place. In the same category, Meerimkan Bazarbay kızı won second place, and Hafiza Sydykova and Ayana Saryeva placed third.

In the category “Advertising and Branding in the Context of the Green Economy,” Aida Abdysatarova, a third-year student of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, won first place, while Gulkaiyr Kerimbaeva, a third-year student of the Department of Journalism, won second place.

In the category “Sustainable Development Communication: Big Altai Image in the Media of Central Asian Countries,” Begimay Kadyrbekova, a third-year student of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, received the first-place award.

Second place in the case competition
One of the highlights of the festival, the case analysis competition, saw the “Hillers” team—composed of students from the KTMU Department of Public Relations and Advertising—win second place with the solutions they developed for a real case presented by the Deposit Protection Agency. The team, consisting of Islam Egemberdiev, Madina Kılıchbekova, Aiymkyz Habibullaeva, Ayperi Toktogulova, and Aliya Abylkasımova, was recognized by the jury for its practical perspectives and strategic approach.

Standing out in PR discussions
KTMU students also stood out in the PR discussions held as part of the festival. Aliya Abylkasımova and Ayperi Toktogulova took third place for their presentations and preparation, while Ayperi Toktogulova was additionally awarded “Best Speaker” for her performance.

“The success demonstrates academic knowledge and practical capability”
Prof. Dr. Besim Yildirim, Dean of the KTMU Faculty of Communication, stated that the multiple awards won by KTMU students in such a prestigious event, with students and jury members from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan, are a concrete demonstration of the high-quality communication education at the faculty, its practice-oriented academic approach, and the professional competence of its students.
