KTMU Faculty of Communication Participates in International Conference Hosted by National University of Uzbekistan


The Faculty of Communication at the Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) continues to strengthen its international visibility in global academic discussions within the fields of media and communication. Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanyshay Muktarova represented KTMU's Faculty of Communication at the international conference titled “Journalism, Communication, and Creative Economy: Development Trends, Education, and Technologies,” hosted by the Mirzo Ulugbek National University of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan.

Bringing together scholars, researchers, and media professionals from various countries, the conference established an interdisciplinary platform for discussions centered on contemporary topics. These included the impact of artificial intelligence technologies on the media ecosystem, digital transformation processes, and the future of communication education. During the sessions held throughout the program, the multidimensional impacts of technological transformation in the media sector on social structures were thoroughly evaluated.

Artificial Intelligence and the Crisis of Truth Addressed

During the conference, Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanyshay Muktarova, a faculty member of the Department of Public Relations and Advertising at KTMU’s Faculty of Communication, delivered a presentation titled “Artificial Intelligence and Deepfake Technologies in the Post-Truth Era: The Transformation of Trust in Media and the Importance of Media Literacy.”

The presentation highlighted that AI-driven content creation and deepfake technologies cannot be viewed merely as technical innovations. Instead, it was emphasized that this shift has become a global phenomenon reshaping public perception, political communication processes, and public trust. Touching upon how trust in media institutions is undergoing a transformation in the post-truth era, Muktarova pointed out that media literacy in the digital age is a strategic necessity for the sustainability of democratic societies.

Digital Security and Information Hygiene Take Center Stage

Discussions held during the conference underscored the vital importance of maintaining information hygiene, developing media literacy, strengthening social stability, and combating disinformation to safeguard national values. The assessments highlighted that cooperation between academia and the media sector will foster a stronger capacity to generate solutions to the complex, multifaceted challenges of the digital age.

A New Foundation Formed for International Academic Collaborations

In the closing sessions of the conference, the impact of modern technologies on information security and digital sovereignty was addressed, emphasizing the importance of international academic platforms aimed at raising scientific awareness among young researchers. The exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary interaction achieved throughout the event laid a crucial foundation for future joint research projects and academic collaborations.
