Television Journalism Seminar with BBC Correspondent Meerim Dogdurbekova
February 18, 2026, a highly informative seminar was held for first-year students of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. The guest of the seminar was Meerim Dogdurbekova, an experienced correspondent working at the BBC media corporation.
The main topic of the seminar was the practical methods of preparing television reports and the requirements of modern journalism. The guest speaker explained step by step how a news report is created from beginning to end. She elaborated in detail on key processes such as selecting a topic, researching the event, verifying information sources, conducting interviews, and properly planning shots. The speaker also shared real examples from her professional experience and described how several reports had been produced.
