On September 23, 2026, a conference was held to contribute to the development of students’ knowledge and experience in the field of international relations. Muratbek Azımbakiyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Swiss Confederation and Permanent Representative to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva, participated in the conference as a speaker.
The program, held at the Kasım Tınıstanov Conference Hall, addressed geopolitics, geoeconomics, Kyrgyzstan’s position in international relations, and its multi-vector foreign policy. Azımbakiyev emphasized that geopolitics and geoeconomics cannot be considered separately in contemporary international relations and drew attention to the security and foreign policy dimensions of economic projects.
Stating that Kyrgyzstan’s geographical position can be turned into an advantage through appropriate policies, Azımbakiyev emphasized that a multi-vector foreign policy requires the development of balanced and trust-based relations with different countries. He also addressed the importance of education, human capital, and the role of young people in the country’s future, highlighting the need for Kyrgyzstan to develop a model of development suited to its own conditions.
The program concluded with a question-and-answer session during which students’ questions were addressed.
