In this presentation, Dr. Kılıç discussed the historical development of the cello in Turkish music, its performance practices, and its place in the repertoire. Faculty members of our Music Department—Necip Yılgın, Fatih Erenler, and Gökhan Usal—contributed to the program with performances on various instruments.
During the session, Dr. Kılıç also demonstrated his explanations with a live cello performance on stage.
The event highlighted the transformation of the cello within Turkish music, traditional and modern performance techniques, and both orchestral and solo uses. Through live performance examples, Dr. Kılıç offered participants a rich musical perspective.
At the end of the program, Dr. Adem Kılıç was presented a certificate of appreciation by the Deputy Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Banu Erdoğan Çakar.
The event served as an important academic platform by drawing attention to instrumental diversity in Turkish music and the performance possibilities of the cello.
