In the academic year 2023-2024, doctoral students of the history department contributed to science through their research. At the end of 2023, Gulnaz Askarbek successfully defended her dissertation entitled “Socio-Economic Situation of County Towns of the Turkestan (the second half of the XIX century - early XX century)”. This PhD thesis, was supervised by Professor Jeenbek Alymbaev and studied the state of cities in Kyrgyzstan during the Russian Empire.
On June 24, 2024, doctoral student Eray Amasya successfully defended his thesis entitled “Holy Places in the North of Kyrgyzstan according to Traditional Beliefs”. The scientific work of Eray Amasya, which produced interesting scientific conclusions, was carried out under the scrupulous supervision of Professor Nezahat Ceylan. The dissertation deals with the sacred places in the northern regions of Kyrgyzstan within the framework of traditional Kyrgyz beliefs. In the study, the beliefs and traditions related to the sacred places in the northern regions of Kyrgyzstan were identified and scientifically evaluated. Besides that, doctoral student Eray Amasya not only used information from scientific works but also conducted field research such as interviews and surveys as well.
