Seminars by Scientists of Bukhara State University


On April 18, 2025, the History Department was honored to host a visit from faculty members of Bukhara State University, Uzbekistan.

Associate Professor Dr. Bakhtiyor Rizayev, in his presentation titled “The Influence of Migration on the Formation of Bukhara”, discussed the origins and development of the historical city of Bukhara.

Dr. Bakhtishod Umarov, in his talk “Bukhara – The Islamic Cultural Center”, emphasized Bukhara's pivotal role as the golden cradle of Islam in Turkestan, highlighting the contributions of the city’s great scholars to the spread and development of Islam in the region.

Associate Professor Dr. Jahongir Ergeshov focused on the significance of Imam al-Bukhari in the Islamic world and his profound impact on the Turkic world. His report, “Imam al-Bukhari and Mahmud az-Zamakhshari: Their Contributions to Islamic Civilization”, examined their lasting influence on Islamic thought and culture.

The seminars concluded with a questions and answers session followed by a group photo to commemorate the event.
