The “Eurasian Symposium on History, Language and Cultural Studies” was held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMU) between March 24–26, 2026. The symposium was organized in cooperation with the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History of the Republic of Türkiye, the Turkish Historical Society, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, and Ankara University. The opening ceremony of the symposium, which began on March 24, 2026, was attended by the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan; the President of the Turkish Historical Society, Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen; the Dean of the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University, Prof. Dr. İrfan Albayrak; and a faculty member of the Department of History at KTMU, Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeev. Prof. Dr. Ceylan emphasized the importance of the Turkish Historical Society and its contributions. He expressed his belief that this significant symposium, realized through the collaboration of three stakeholders, would make valuable contributions to the field of history and the Turkic world, and he thanked the partners. Prof. Dr. Yüksel Özgen, President of the Turkish Historical Society, delivered important remarks during the opening session regarding the institution’s activities, its work related to the Turkic world, and its global vision. Prof. Dr. İrfan Albayrak, Dean of the Faculty of Language, History and Geography at Ankara University, provided information about the faculty and highlighted the importance of academic cooperation among Turkic states. Prof. Dr. Anvarbek Mokeev stated that Kyrgyz history is closely intertwined with the history of other Turkic peoples, and he discussed the state of historical studies in Kyrgyzstan after independence, as well as the research conducted at Manas University.
The symposium brought together expert scholars from across the Turkic world, and various topics related to the history, language, and culture of Eurasia were discussed. During the program held on March 24–25, more than 50 papers were presented under the following themes: Written sources and archaeological materials in the study of Turkic world history; The future and digitalization of the cultural heritage of the Turkic world; Migrations in the history of the Turkic world from ancient times to the present; The past, present, and future of Turkic language studies. Studies in ancient Turkic sciences and the future of the Turkic world.In addition, as part of the social program, on March 26, 2026, participating academics visited important cultural and historical sites in Kyrgyzstan, including the Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex, the ruins of Burana (Balasagun), and the National Museum. The visit to the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan was accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Bishkek, Dr. Mekin Mustafa Kemal Ökem, and the Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan. During the visit, books were presented to the National Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan by the Rector of KTMU, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan.
