Seminar on “The Representation of the Ancient Homeland of the Kyrgyz in the Manas Epic”
On September 25, 2026, a seminar entitled “The Representation of the Ancient Homeland of the Kyrgyz in the Manas Epic” was held for students of the Department of History. During the seminar, Professor Muratbek Kochobekov delivered a presentation on how the ancient homeland of the Kyrgyz is represented in the Manas Epic. The presentation examined the historical homeland of the Kyrgyz as depicted in the epic, its representation in geographical space, and the significance of these accounts for understanding the historical memory of the Kyrgyz people. The event contributed to students’ deeper understanding of the cultural heritage of the Kyrgyz people and the historical significance of the Manas Epic. During the seminar, students had the opportunity to ask questions of particular interest to them and received answers to their questions.
