On 10 March 2026, the Academic Council of the Faculty of Humanities convened with the participation of KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Acting Secretary General Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatih Ramazan İstanbullugil, and Acting Rector’s Advisor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Avcı.
During the meeting, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ashyk, delivered a comprehensive report assessing the 2025 academic year. The report provided detailed statistics on student and faculty distribution, exchange programs, scientific publications, and the faculty’s community outreach initiatives.
Dean Ashyk emphasized that, in line with the three core objectives established by the Faculty Council for 2026, the number of minor (second specialization) programs is slated to double for the 2026-2027 academic year. He also highlighted recent innovations within the faculty.
KTMU Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan evaluated the university’s scientific publication potential and expressed his gratitude to the faculty members for their contributions. Stressing the necessity of increasing publication output in 2026, Rector Ceylan noted that international collaborations and citation statistics are vital for the university's global recognition and internationalization process. The meeting concluded with a commemorative group photo following the closing remarks.
