From 24 to 26 March 2026, a symposium on research in the field of Eurasian history, language and culture was held, jointly organised by the Atatürk Higher Council for Culture, Language and History, the Turkish Historical Society, the Kyrgyz-Turkish ‘Manas’ University and Ankara University. The event, which brought together a large number of scholars from leading universities in Turkey and Kyrgyzstan, featured presentations across 10 sessions covering a wide range of disciplines, primarily linguistics, history, archaeology and geography.
During the two-day academic sessions, the historical depth, linguistic layers and cultural continuity of the Eurasian region were examined from a broad perspective – ranging from written sources to archaeological finds, and from the history of migrations to research into digital heritage. On the final day of this highly productive symposium, the scholars visited historical sites in Bishkek and its surroundings. As part of this programme, an excursion was organised to the Ata-Beyit Memorial Complex, the Burana Tower (Balasagun) and the National History Museum of Kyrgyzstan.
