A programme that brought everyone together
On 9 December 2024, the Philology Department held an event dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the state language and the 30th anniversary of the Kyrgyz-Turkish University ‘Manas’ ‘Knowledge is the Light of Life’. Students of the department took an active part in this programme: they prepared a presentation about playwright Mar Baydjiev, read poems in Kyrgyz and Turkish, sang songs, told ‘Manas’, danced and staged skits. Among them - bright mini plays ‘Bet Ashar’ and ‘Semetei’, an original staging of an episode from Chingiz Aitmatov's story ‘White Steamboat’, a melodious song in Chinese accompanied by a dance group, a staging of a scene from Mar Baijiev's play ‘Duel’, fiery Kyrgyz and Turkish dances, a lyrical song dedicated to the memory of Chingiz Aitmatov, poems about the native land and the Kyrgyz language. In conclusion, all participants and spectators sang the song ‘Ala-Too’. The literary and musical programme ‘Knowledge is the Light of Life’ showed the young talents of the Philology Department and turned into a real celebration of language and culture.
