HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Philosophy was opened in 2008-2009 academic year within the Faculty of Humanities of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. In 2009, Philosophy Club was established by the department. In 2014, Master’s program was opened at the Department of Philosophy at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. Currently, the department offers undergraduate and graduate programs to students.

MISSION of THE DEPARTMENT

Based on scientific and technological development, the need for educated human resources in all parts of society is increasing. For this reason, there is a need to educate a new generation of experts in our country in accordance with the demands of the age. Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Faculty of Humanities, Department of Philosophy aims to educate the young generation who can correctly identify, analyze, clarify the changes occurring in society, contribute to the future development of society, and work in international cooperation. The mission of the department is to create conditions for students to get acquainted with the leading examples of philosophy, to combine their knowledge with practice, to master philosophy at a high level and to put this subject into practice.

VISION OF THE DEPARTMENT

To train a new generation of specialists based on educational programs in accordance with international standards, based on the experience of world philosophy, familiar with the philosophical, social and cultural heritage of the Turkic peoples, contributing to the growth and development of their own country and the Turkic world, capable of researching important issues of modern society. To educate highly qualified specialists who can correctly analyze any crisis situation, respond to the problems and needs of the age, have a deep perspective, think comprehensively, and have quality education.

AIM

  • To provide students with in-depth knowledge of the history of philosophy according to international standards;
  • To develop students’ views on the philosophical heritage of Turkic people;
  • To develop students’ skills in conducting scientific research in the field of philosophy;
  • To contribute to the personal development of students and the formation of their philosophical views;
  • To raise competent young people who can research the important issues of society in accordance with its needs.
