As part of the ongoing seminar series organized by the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Humanities at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, a scientific seminar titled “The Axioms of Aristotelian Metaphysics in the Context of Quantum Reality” was held on April 1, 2026, at 15:30 in Conference Room 228. The presentation was delivered Islambek Saparbek Uulu, a student in the Master’s program of Philosophy.
During the seminar, the fundamental concepts of Aristotle’s metaphysics were examined in relation to specific topics in modern quantum physics, exploring the connections between ancient philosophical thought and contemporary scientific research were discussed. Particular attention was paid to the relationship between being and thought in Aristotelian metaphysics, specifically addressing the question of whether being and thought are coextensive, or whether being transcends thought.
The discussion also addressed several fundamental philosophical questions: if being is broader than thought, is it possible to fully comprehend it? If being exceeds thought, can we truly know the most sublime and purest Being—God? Furthermore, if the concept of being is reconsidered from the perspective of quantum physics, what transformations might occur in metaphysical inquiry?
The seminar included an active question-and-answer session, where participants engaged in a detailed analysis and discussion of these issues. The event provided a valuable platform for students to deepen their understanding of the relationship between philosophy and the natural sciences. We believe that such seminars contribute to the development of students’ scientific thinking, encourage a philosophical approach to contemporary issues, and help them perceive the connections between different fields of knowledge.
