At the initiative of the Ministry of Science, Higher Education and Innovations of the Kyrgyz Republic, and as part of the activities to organize and conduct the anniversary Issyk-Kul Forum approved by Order No. 1134-t of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 22, 2025, an international seminar titled “Cultural Memory as the Core of National Identity” was held on April 23, 2026, at Kyrgyz National University named after Zhusup Balasagyn. The event was jointly organized by the Bozjol Research Center, KNU named after Zh. Balasagyn, Department of Philosophy of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and the Department of Pedagogy of Yıldız Technical University.
The seminar took place in Conference Room at the Bozjol Research Center of Kyrgyz National University. It was conducted in Kyrgyz, Russian, Turkish, and English languages, and featured discussions on the role of cultural memory in public consciousness, its significance in shaping national identity, and transformation processes in the context of globalization.
The seminar was moderated by Director of the Centre Abdrasulov Savetbek Misirkulovich and scholars from Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Russia participated in it. In their presentations, the participants emphasized the importance of rethinking cultural memory as a key factor in national identity, as well as understanding its role in modern society from both philosophical and pedagogical perspectives. Faculty members and 3rd–4th year students of our department actively participated in the seminar and contributed to the scientific discussions.
