Students Were Guests at Rector Alpaslan Ceylan's House
Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan hosted students from different countries and faculties at his home for iftar.
The students said that they were excited to be guests at his house and thanked Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan for his hospitality and the Street Iftar, which was a first in Kyrgyzstan.
While expressing their feelings, the students emphasized that they are very happy to be from Manas, to experience brotherhood, love, respect, the peace and spirituality of Ramadan together in Manas.
Upon Prof. Dr. Ceylan's request, the students made a video call to their families and introduced them to Rector Alpaslan Ceylan. Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan sent heartfelt greetings to the families from the ancestral homeland and said that they are also members of the Manas Family and that he would be happy to see them at Manas University located at the foot of the God Mountains. The families thanked Ceylan for creating an environment where they could entrust their children to the Manas Family with peace of mind and for taking care of them closely.
Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan reminded that “hosting guests” at home is an important tradition in Turkish culture and that Turkish peoples are known for their hospitality all over the world. Rector Ceylan said to the students that he would like to host all the students in his home, but this wasn`t possible, he invited students from different countries on behalf of his friends, and that he was pleased to share the beauties of Ramadan with his students, to fast and pray with them.
Rector Alpaslan Ceylan told about the Ramadan traditions in Turkey and the students talked about the traditions in their own countries. During the conversation, it was once again seen that the Turkish World was one with its traditions and customs.
Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan requested the students to always protect and reinforce this unity, solidarity, brotherhood and friendship, and to remember that unity is strength and that the youth of the Turkic World are members of a very large and strong family. Also Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan repeated the phrase “We are one, we are strong, we are alive” at the end of this beautiful iftar evening.
