International Workshop on Turkic History and Turkic Ancient Sciences
The "International Workshop on Turkic History and Ancient Turkic Sciences" commenced on October 4, 2023. The workshop was organized by the Faculty of Humanities of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and the Eurasian Research Institute of History, Language, and Archaeology The opening ceremony took place at the Rectorate Conference Hall of Manas University. At the beginning of the program, the national anthems of both countries were performed. Following this, the audience watched a documentary film about Toktobubu, the newest member of the “Manas Family”. The documentary deeply moved the audience.
Deputy Rector of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova expressed her gratitude to all the participants for gathering to share their valuable knowledge about the history, past, present, and future of the Turkic World. Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova emphasized the university's commitment to collaboration and research on the shared culture of the Turkic World, stating that "The door of Manas University is always open for you." Highlighting the importance of Turkish culture in her speech, Dr. Baktygul Kalambekova expressed her belief that this event would contribute to the wider recognition of the cultural heritage of the Turkic World.
Rector, Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan stated that this "International Workshop on Turkic History and Ancient Turkic Sciences" marked a significant event, being the first of its kind in Central Asia, and it would continue in the future.Rector also quoted Ziya Pasha's saying: "History is the greatest political teacher" and Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's words: "History is a beautiful mirror. We owe today's awakening to the past."
Following the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Şeyhmus Recai Tekoglu presented the opening paper titled "Analyses in Old Anatolian Languages." The workshop, which will continue from October 4 to October 6, 2023, features the participation of 36 esteemed scientists.
