  • 2024-12-31

Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University (KTMÜ) has been rapidly climbing the international rankings and achieved 10th place in the 2025 QS Central Asia Rankings and 230th place in the QS Asia Rankings. It also became the first and only university from Kyrgyzstan to be featured in the QS Sustainability Rankings.

The most successful period in the history of internationalization

Over the past five years, KTMÜ has experienced the most successful period in its history of internationalization through dedicated and diligent efforts. Contributing factors to these achievements include increases in academic and employer reputation, improvements in faculty-to-student ratio, higher citation rates per faculty member, and higher proportions of international and international students. KTMÜ has significantly enhanced its academic excellence, research capacity, and international recognition and visibility thanks to these efforts.

Leadership in sustainability

In addition to its academic achievements, KTMÜ has become a national leader in sustainability, demonstrating high performance in environmental impact, social impact, and governance criteria. KTMÜ is the first and only university in Kyrgyzstan to appear in the QS Sustainability Rankings.

A vision to become a global brand

Recognized by the prestigious international rating agency QS as one of the world’s top 1,000 universities for three consecutive years and awarded four stars by QS, KTMÜ has risen to 230th place in the QS Asia Rankings and 10th place in the QS Central Asia Rankings. A national leader in QS sustainability metrics and listed among the world’s top universities for modern language teaching by QS, KTMÜ also ranks highly in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. With these significant accomplishments in internationalization, KTMÜ has placed Kyrgyzstan on the global higher education platform for the first time and is swiftly moving toward its goal of becoming an international brand.

A university that justifies the trust placed in it

Cherished by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov—both of whom hold the university in high regard and closely follow its progress—Manas University has reached new international heights through extensive support from both states, as well as through result-oriented leadership. It has validated its founders' trust and the more fantastic Turkic world bestowed upon it.

The leadership and competitive edge KTMÜ has achieved in the region prove that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision of making KTMÜ a “global brand” is achievable. In all these respects, KTMÜ has become the center of attraction for higher education in Kyrgyzstan and throughout the region.
