Our Students Achieve Great Success at the 34th Young Communicators Competition
The 34th Young Communicators Competition, organized in collaboration with the Aydın Doğan Foundation and the Turkish Journalists Association, announced its winners. Students from Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University’s Faculty of Communication achieved remarkable success, returning with four prestigious awards.
The award ceremony took place on February 20, 2025, at the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus Hotel, featuring a grand celebration attended by esteemed figures from the media and communication industry. Representing Manas University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal, Dean of the Faculty of Communication, and Academic Specialist Fahri Tarhan, who mentored the students, were also present at the event.
In photography, Raiana Mamedova, a fourth-year Journalism student advised by Academic Specialist Fahri Tarhan, won first place, while Jibek Abdukaimova, also from the Journalism Department, earned third place.
In the short film category, Aizhamal Mirbek kyzy, a student from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, mentored by Instructor Nargiza Mamatkulova, won first prize. Additionally, Altynai Adamalieva another student from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, guided by Instructor Stambulbek Mambetaliev, claimed third place in the documentary film category.
This year’s competition featured participation from communication faculties of 60 universities, with over a thousand projects evaluated across written, visual, audio, and internet broadcasting. Awards were presented across 14 categories.
Recognized as one of Türkiye’s most prestigious competitions for aspiring media professionals, the Aydın Doğan Young Communicators Competition provides university students with a platform to showcase their talents and develop their skills in the media industry.
